While in Jaco, nineteen of my squad-mates and I decided to enter into a new marriage covenant with the Lord and get baptized in the ocean, some for the first time and some for the second time. This day represents new life, new beginnings, unity, deep freedom, and full surrender. A day of pure joy and tangible examples of the Lord's goodness! What a gift it is to live life with thirty-eight other people who hunger and thirst to live life as Jesus would!
I had the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the joy of this day through videography:
Little update: After a month in Jaco, my squad split up into our individual teams and went to different ministries all around Costa Rica for the past ten days. We're now all back together in Puerto Viejo, staying at a YWAM base in a little beach town on the east coast. We're here for the next three weeks and then we have a week-long debrief before heading off to our second country, Guatemala! (wooo route change!) Thank you for all of your support over the first three months of my race! (officially on month four what??)
Much love,
Avery
